Brenda Stone
Brenda Stone is a leading Australian contemporary artist based in North Queensland – designing and creating custom pieces for corporate and residential spaces. Her explosive and electric artwork has brought new life and light to an incredible range of settings. From the hotel rooms to local schools; from recently refurbished businesses, to more intimate spaces of residential dining, living and bedrooms. Whether working alone or in collaboration with interior designers, Brenda’s unique artwork is the remarkable combination of space, design and desire – meeting the needs of her clients in the creation of custom artworks for specific purposes and contexts.
The last 15 years has seen Brenda establish her practise firmly within the city (and beyond) and has completed hundreds of original pieces, specialising in commissioned abstract art with a variety of mediums and styles. Several of her artworks are showcased in local businesses within Townsville, drawing together the elements and colours of each business within the paintings. Graduating from a Bachelor of Visual Arts at James Cook University 2007 in her home town, Brenda has continued to pursue her profession and passion within The Drill Hall Studio Gallery as a resident artist.
These last few years saw Brenda's artwork expand internationally not only physically with her paintings heading to Dubai, Japan and New Zealand, but also digtially through the form of NFT’s and digital assets. Brenda was chosen to be featured artist for The Corals NFT Art Project, an Australian digital art project featuring unique coral reef NFTs utilising blockchain technology to fundraise for the restoration of The Great Barrier Reef. Her artwork has been exhibited in New York City, Japan and Bali. And this is only the beginning for her!
Back home, Brenda has partnered with local developer Martin Locke Homes where she curated & painted one of the largest outdoor installation within the Townsville City’s Flinders Lane. Most recently, Brenda’s artwork was commissioned by the Townsville Airport for the newly renovated airport terminal - consisting of a 150sqm ocean-scape mural showcasing Townsville’s exquisite tropical tones and environment- her artwork acts as a way finder to our regions colourful gems.
Brenda's artwork can also be seen in person at The Drill Hall Studio, Co-Habitat Working Space, Smart Precinct NQ, Clements Medical Centre and by consultation.
